Shell Study

I suppose it’s tacky and Cape-y to take photos of shells and beach-enalia, but I find them irresistable through the lens. These photos are exactly how nature left them with the sand sculpted around them, or grouped together in ones and twos. Viewed close up they tend to become abstract within their surroundings. Water, with its refraction and reflection of light, adds a fourth dimension to the photos. Recently I completed a photo book where I paired shell photos with haikus I had written.
